The National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO)
ST. AUGUSTINE – The St. Johns Housing Partnership creating safe, affordable housing for 25 years, recognized Housing America Month in October.
In 2007, The National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) created the Housing America campaign and designated October as Housing America Month: a time for the organization and its members to collectively raise awareness of the need for, and the importance of, safe, decent and affordable housing in quality communities.
Each year, during Housing America Month, NAHRO members, including public housing agencies and community development organizations, hosted events to showcase the important work they do year-round.
NAHRO, which was established in 1933, is a membership organization of more than 19,500 housing and community development providers and professionals throughout the United States. NAHRO members create and manage affordable housing for low- and middle-income families, and support vibrant communities that enhance the quality of life for all. NAHRO members administer more than 3 million homes for more than 8 million people.
