St. Johns Housing Partnership to build new rentals, one underway
The housing partnership has also been working with St. Johns County officials on making policy changes to help draw more affordable housing units to the county, and a discussion with the County Commission is coming soon.
The new duplex, which will be a two-story building, is under construction is on Evergreen Avenue near Masters Drive in St. Augustine, and the units are expected to rent for around $900 a month for both of the three-bedroom, one-bath units.
“We’re in the framing process right now,” said Lisa Drudi, construction coordinator for the St. Johns Housing Partnership. “They just started framing today. It should be completely framed hopefully within about two weeks and hopefully completed no later than the end of December, beginning of January.”
